How to Make an Easy TV Stand

A TV stand can be a convenient and decorative addition to any family room or bedroom. With all the varieties and sizes of TVs on the market, a custom-made stand may best fit your needs. If you're on a tight budget or don't have much experience with woodworking, a trip to the hardware store will provide everything you need to make a simple yet elegant stand for your television.

Place the concrete blocks on the floor where you would like to place your TV stand. The widest side of the blocks should sit flat on the floor.

Space out the blocks to be flush with the width and length of your wood. Note: The wood should be as long or, ideally, longer than the base of the television.

Place the wood on top of the blocks. At this point one block should be even with each corner of the wood.

Place the TV on the center of the platform. If you have a heavier television, you'll want to stack another equal-sized piece of plywood on top of the base and attach the two pieces together (either by screwing in all four corners or gluing them together, using a wood glue).
