Instructions for the Sony Bravia TV40W4100LCD

Sony released its 40" Sony Bravia W-Series LCD high-definition flatscreen TV in 2008. TV features include Energy Star compliancy, a 16:9 aspect ratio screen, a display resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, Dolby Digital sound, blur reduction, noise reduction, and Light Sensor technology. It weighs 45 pounds, measures about 38x25x4 inches, and comes with a table stand, an AC power cord, two AA batteries, and a remote control.

Instructions

    1

Mount the flatscreen television on the supplied table stand. Place the table stand on a sturdy surface. Lower the TV onto the neck of the stand, aligning the holes. Twist the screws through the television and the stand, tightening them so that the TV is secure. The TV may also be mounted on the wall using a separate kit.

    2

Connect the TV to your cable box by inserting an HDMI cable into the back of the television into the slot labeled "HDMI IN" (located in the back of the TV at the top in the sixth column of receptors from the left). Insert the other end into the back of your cable box.

    3

Insert two AA batteries into the back of the remote control, aligning the polarity. Point the remote directly at the IR sensor located on the bottom-right area of the TV frame.

    4

Program your channels when you turn the television on for the first time. The Initial Setup menu will appear, asking you to select your preferred language. Use the remote control to navigate through the menu. Run "Auto Program," which will scan and memorize all available channels coming through your cable box.

    5

Use the remote control to perform various tasks while watching TV. Push the "Power" button (top-right of remote) to turn the TV on and off. Press the "Sleep" button (the middle button at the top of the remote) to begin a countdown (15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, etc.) for the amount of time you'd like to pass before the television shuts itself off. Press "Guide' (the button to the left of the four-way selector) to access the TV Guide, where you may scroll through channels and times of programming. Press the "Muting" button (located at the far bottom left of the remote) to turn off all sound. Press either "Volume" button (located directly above Muting button) to restore sound. Select the "Freeze" button to stop on an image during a program. Press it twice to fit the screen, and press it three times to return to the current show.
