Affordable Centerpiece Ideas

Affordable Centerpiece Ideas

Whether planning a small intimate dinner for two or something as extravagant as a formal wedding, a table centerpiece makes the event more festive. Centerpieces set the tone for the festivities and make the table setting inviting. Centerpieces neednt be expensive to be impressive. You may choose anything from flowers and candles to fruit and candy to make a unique, affordable centerpiece.

Flowers

For a wedding, put the bridesmaids bouquets in a vase to let them double for centerpieces at the wedding reception. Potted plants and flowers also make affordable table arrangements that can be reused. Place a variety of small potted plants in different colored vases and bowls in the center of a table for a festive colorful centerpiece, or go monochromatic by using shades of the same colors. Galvanized buckets with herbs inside make nice centerpieces that can be taken away as a party favor once the event is over.

Candles

Rent candelabras from a local florist and fill them with basic white candles that can be bought in bulk at a craft store. Round glass bowls that are found at dollar stores and discount stores can be filled with water and a floating candle. Add watercolor to coordinate with you color theme for the event. Consider scattering votives among a trail of glass pebbles or rose petals. Stagger different heights of glass cylinder vases with floating candles, or for simplicity go with differing heights of pillar candles for a centerpiece. Embellish the candles with coordinating ribbons. For an eclectic look group together different styles of votive candle holders in different sizes as a table centerpiece. For a rustic look, use a slice of a tree stump as a pedestal for candle in neutral colors that have been matched with raffia and rope.

Edible

Edible centerpieces make a colorful bang, and guest will enjoy munching on them or carrying them away for eating later. For a childrens party fill colorful buckets with candy and stick in colorful swirl lollipops so they appear to be flowers sprouting up out of a candy garden. Place a small, decorated cake in the center of the table to serve as a mouthwatering centerpiece and dessert. Clear bowls of fruit in colors to complement your color scheme make fresh, appealing centerpieces.

Favors

Go completely unconventional by stacking beautifully wrapped favors in the center of the table. For a living centerpiece put a fish in a small fish bowl or a tall cylinder vase with river rocks in the bottom. Allow guests to take them home as a memento. For a personal touch, do a centerpiece of frame photos. For a baby shower, use a diaper cake for a centerpiece. It will double as a gift for the mom-to-be.
