How to Detach a TV Stand From a Vizio TV

Vizio HDTVs come with a detachable TV stand that you can remove if you wish to mount your television flush against a wall. This detachable stand is attached to the television with several screws, so in order to remove the TV stand, you must first remove the screws. With a bit of careful planning, you can detach the TV stand from your Vizio TV in a few simple steps.

Instructions

Turn off the television and disconnect the power cable from the back of the set. Disconnect any other cables, including component, HDMI and composite cables.

Lay the television face down on a flat, soft surface, such as carpet, to protect the screen.

Unscrew the screws attaching the TV stand to the back of the television. The number of screws used will vary depending on your TV model.

Remove the TV stand from the back of the Vizio HDTV.
