How to Mount Plasma TV Stands

How to Mount Plasma TV Stands

Before you can sit back and enjoy television on a plasma or LCD flat-screen TV, it's necessary to mount the television onto the stand. Almost all flat-screen televisions come with a separate stand that must be mounted in order to stand the set up straight. The base of the stand may be square, rounded or four-footed, but the process of mounting it onto the television is a fairly consistent one across the different brands, but it may be a two- or three-person job for large sets. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Set the stand upright and fit the L-shaped guide-piece over the protruding shaft in the middle of the stand. Firmly tighten the screws connecting the stand to the guide-piece with a Phillips screwdriver and the enclosed screws. The guide-piece is not universal: most Samsung sets use one, whereas manufacturers such as Panasonic use a single-stand unit.

    2

Place the stand on the surface where you want the television to sit. Grasp the television set by the edges and lift it over the stand, keeping the set level at all times. For sets over 32 inches, have a friend help with the lifting to ensure you do not drop the set or injure yourself.

    3

Lower the set slowly onto the stand's central shaft, letting the guide-piece help you place the set correctly. If your set does not have a guide-piece, have a friend hold the lower edge of the set and guide it onto the shaft.

    4

Push the circular cable-holder into the slot on the back of the stand until it clicks into place. Cable-holders are not a universal feature of stands; if your stand does not include a holder, consider employing cable-ties for the sake of tidiness and to reduce the risk of electrical accidents from tangled wired.
